The Firehouse Re-inspired
There's an old firehouse in Portland's Pearl District that's slated to be torn down to make a way for a new residential tower. While we don't really support saving the firehouse in its entirety, we understand its architecture and the texture it contributes to its surroundings. We've just begun sketching ways in which the new tower might engage with the old building. Here, at the lower left of the composition, is the firehouse facade in its entirety. The rest of the tower has simply followed its lead. Stay tuned for some real drawings coming soon and catch our OpEd piece in The Oregonian about this issue!
